Dr. James Paharik. “What Causes Extremism and How Can We Combat it?” Dr. Paharik is Director, National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education, Professor of Sociology, and Coordinator, Behavioral Health Program at Seton Hill University. He is currently in the process of finalizing plans for a Conference at Seton Hill, November 7 – 10 which will embrace the question: What causes extremism, and how can we combat it? Dr. Paharik will share his research and preparations for the Conference as well as some highlights from his interviews with Holocaust survivors in an effort to record their stories and gain wisdom to help us understand and combat extremism as it appears in America today.
